There is more improvement to be made in the URL space for the purpose of interop 2024.
This bug will track that work, which includes some newly triaged wpt failures and some carry over items from interop-2023-url.

Status Update - Dec 20, 2024

Our scores (URL) on wpt.fyi were raised to:

• 99.3% of our interop commitments (from 89% in 2023 and 77% in 2022) and
• 97% of overall URL scores (from 85%)

Most of the fixes were in the url directory, but we also fixed some url-related bugs in html/infrastructure/urls/resolving-urls/query-encoding directory.

Remaining failures will be handled as followup maintenance due to various reasons:

• 1507354 - parser discards file url host is blocked by many file w hostname mitigations
• 1902687 - file: with hosts is similarly blocked by the above mitigations
• 1848511 - Failing javascript: URLs is blocked by spec changes and was deferred from interop as “too risky”

Note there were some other bugs not mentioned here decidedly out-of-scope at the beginning of our planning, which are already tracked elsewhere in bugzilla. Currently, all failing WPTs in url/* have an associated bug in bugzilla.

We can now consider closing this meta (or using it for further tracking of the remaining bugs).
