With the work to move to ES modules, SpecialPowers.importInMainProcess will need addressing, as currently it is handling JSM based modules.
There appear to be no current users in the tree.
:mccr8 as you added this originally, do you know if this is likely to be needed again?

Looking at the original bug I filed for this, bug 1226291, it looks like this was mostly used to clean up some tests during the transition to e10s, so if there are no uses left, I think it is okay to get rid of it.
