From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.7) Gecko/20011226 BuildID: 2001122617 Under Netscape, I can log in fine, so this is not a web server/ Network connection problem. When I try to log in under mozilla 0.97, I get an Unknown Socket Type exception window, preventing me from logging in. I am using RH 7.2 on an intel celeron, have a DSL PPOE connection, and am using IP Masquerading through ip tables. Please let me know if you need further info, I will try to respond to all requests. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Go to quote.yahoo.com 2.Click on Top left "Sign in" link 3.Type username and password in proper fields, then click "Sign in" Actual Results: 4.Window will pop up with error. "Unknown Socket Type. Loading Aborted" 5.Works fine under Netscape. Expected Results: Should log into service
Target Milestone: --- → mozilla0.9.7
You need to install the PSM module which is needed for secure connections. If you installed Mozilla via RPM, you need the mozilla-psm package. Otherwise, it is turned on by default during the install -- don't uncheck it :) Also, please don't set target milestones. That is for developers to say when they can fix it by. Thanks for helping test Mozilla and good luck with getting PSM to work :) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 47617 ***
